What this code means

Common rail pressure low error: low pressure is detected in the common rail circuit. Symptoms: engine does not start at all or does not start easily, exhaust gas becomes black, engine output lowers. Common rail pressure can be checked with the monitoring function (code 36400). Action level L01.

Applies to: PC200-8/PC200-8M0 excavator (engine controller).

Possible causes / checks (from the source)

Manual troubleshooting causes: (1) use of improper fuel; (2) fuel leakage to the outside; (3) defect in low-pressure circuit parts (fuel level, clogging of fuel tank breather, leakage or clogging of low-pressure fuel piping, clogging of fuel pre-filter or main filter); (4) defective pressure limiter; (5) defective injector (including high-pressure piping in cylinder head); (6) defective supply pump; (7) defective common rail pressure sensor system.
