What this code means

Charge air temperature high torque derate: the temperature signal from the boost pressure & temperature sensor exceeds the upper limit of temperature control; the controller restricts engine output (engine output lowers). Action level L03.

Applies to: PC200-8/PC200-8M0 excavator (engine controller).

Possible causes / checks (from the source)

Manual troubleshooting: (1) lowered cooling performance of the aftercooler — check fan belt looseness/damage, insufficient cooling air, clogging of aftercooler fins; (2) abnormal rise of turbocharger outlet temperature; (3) defective boost temperature sensor (see CA153/CA154).
